Sports arbitrage crash course

Sports arbitrage as I prefer to call it is also popularly known as surebetting or arbing.

A surebet is a type of bet where you cover all the outcome of a game such that regardless of any outcome you'd make a profit. Surebetting or arbing is just the process of finding surebets and placing them. Someone who does this regularly is referred to as an arber or arbitrageur. I don't know if that explanation makes sense.

So I think it'd be nice to explain it better using a real game, let's do that!

So we have a match between Rodina Moscow Vs Krasnodar

The match is on Ababet and Championbet as follow:

I want you to take note of the odds with a red rectangular box.

In order to cover the whole outcome of the match you have to play all two opposing outcomes in a two way event and three opposing outcomes in a three-way event. So Iet's use the Over/Under Goal(s) market for this illustration.

We can decide to play Over 2.5 @ 1.9 with a capital of say 10,000 naira

and also under 2.5 @ 2.04 with a capital of 10,000 naira as well

Our total stake is 20,000 naira

In this game we must win at least 1 of them and lose one.

If over 2.5 wins we'll win 19,000 naira leaving us with a loss of 1,000 naira

If under 2.5 wins we'll win 20,400 and make a profit of 400 naira.

But there's one problem with this....and it's we can't guarantee what will play out and doing this over and over will eventually leave us in a loss.

Now the main idea of surebetting is to take advantage of odds differences betweem two or more bookmakers in order to make profit regardless of any outcome.

Now let's take a look at the second bookmaker:

Championbet

As you can see the odds for the odd for under 2.5 here is 2.33.

Look at this image below:

Did you notice any difference? Guaranteed profit of 4,657 naira. Now we are going to always be in profit regardless of the final outcome of the match. The final outcome doesn't matter unlike the first example where we could lose 1,000 naira if the match ends with over 2.5 goals.

The downsides is that we need to do it multiple times or use higher capitals in order to make tangible money but however it is technically risk-free.

Now increasing our stake amount by ten 10x'ed our profit.

How to find surebets or arbing opportunities

There are two ways to find surebet opportunities:

1) Manually by opening multiple bookmakers and searching through multiple games. Obviously that's a lot of work and I highly do not recommend!
